According to the OC Register trams will be returning to the Mickey and Friends parking structure in early 2022.
Tram service between the Mickey and Friends and Pixar Pals parking garages and the front gates of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will return in early 2022, according to Disneyland.
Since the park reopened for “A Touch of Disney” this year the trams have been out of commission. This has left many visitors to walk the path to Disneyland. I personally never take the tram but I can understand the frustration for people with small children, elderly or just unable to walk the long distance on top of the amount of walking that is done while at the parks. Especially at the end of the night. The walk from the parking lot to the parks is about ⅔ of a mile, which can definitely add up when you’re visiting Disneyland.
There has been an alternative to walking. Toy Story parking lot busses have been up and running. So for the time being that is your best bet to avoid the long walk. Toy Story parking lot is located north of Disneyland off of Katella and Harbor.
Park goers have been very vocal about their desire for the trams to return. It seems that soon they will be getting just what they’ve been asking for.
